Every single cent of every donation goes straight towards caring for our babies. While we are grateful to have a few incredibly generous sponsors, Journey of Hope Baby Home remains largely self-funded. Much of the work we do is supported by our personal income.
Our home is where the magic happens
All the babies sleep in our bedroom, and we function as a family of 11—six of whom are under the age of three. This brings many expenses, many of which surprised us beyond the usual baby essentials like nappies, formula, and toiletries.
For example, we do a minimum of three loads of laundry every day, sterilize up to 36 bottles, and make daily trips to the dump to dispose of around 40 nappies. Every little thing adds up quickly.
On top of that, our carers deserve fair pay, and professional services such as accounting come at a cost too.
